#نظرية التوجيه والردع:هي نظرية جديدة في علم الاجرام خرجت عن التراث المورث لنا من النظريات المفسرة للسلوك الاجرامي حيث لما ترجع سبب الاجرام إلى أسباب لا تقوى أن تكون معيارا لتفسير سبب لجوء الافرد للاجرام .فنرى النظرية الفسيولوجية التي أرجعت إجرام الفرد الي تكوينه الجسماني وهو ما وجه اليه الانتقاد وبشدة حيث يمتلك العديد من الافراد نفس الصفات دون أن يكونوا مجرمين .وكذلك نرى النظرية النفسية التي أرجعت إجرام الفرد إلى عوامل نفسية معينة وهو ما وجه اليه الانتقاد أيضا من حيث توافر هذه الخصال لدى البعض دون أن يكونوا مجرمين .وغيره من الأقوال التي سطرت في هذا الشأن إلا أن نظرية التوجية والردع خرجت عن ذلك بابداء أسباب موضوعية تؤدي إلى ظهور النشاط الاجرامي وارتكزت النظرية على ضلغين اساسيين هما التوجيه كضلع اول والردع كضلع ثاني وذلك على مستويات الدولة والمجتمع والأسرة والفرد ذاته حيث اجابت النظرية على ما عجزت النظريات الآخرى أن تجيب عنه ودللت على ذلك بالمؤسسات العسكرية وقلة نسبة الجريمة فيها رغم أنها تحوي جميع طوائف المجتمع  وذلك يرجع الى قوة التوجيه والردع فيها.
